PenCott GreenZone is the latest camouflage pattern that is already being used on a number of Tasmanian Tiger products. PenCott GreenZone is a new addition to the TT product line, and joins Multicam, Camouflage, Khaki, Coyote Brown, Black and Olive.
The PenCott camouflage was designed by the Anglo-American HydeDefinition company, and is notable for its excellent camouflage characteristics. The camouflage family is named after the two British camouflage experts Sir Roland Penrose and Hugh B. Cott. Numerous special units are already using PenCott for their equipment today.
Camouflage is both science and art
The PenCott camouflage has been developed over a number of years. It includes expertise from science and art, is based on analyses of existing camouflage designs and experience gathered in military operations.
And the best camouflage teacher was also consulted for advice: nature. Natural camouflage effects and strategies from the animal world were also incorporated in the PenCott design.
Aim: To create a camouflage with almost perfect camouflage properties
- in areas with little natural cover,
- on short, medium and long distances.
Mission completed – the advantages of PenCott
PenCott is a hybrid pattern. It combines various small, medium and large pattern elements (micro, midi and macro shapes), and combines them in a complex pattern weave. This helps shapes and outlines to merge efficiently with the surrounding area.
Different from other camouflage patterns
PenCott is more natural that countless other digital camouflage patterns. Many of these are made up of medium and large elements, and are much clearer in the surrounding area. These sharper shapes are much easier for the human eye to perceive on short and medium distances in particular. However, the PenCott patterns offers the best camouflage effects here as well.
PenCott is currently available in the following colourways
- SnowDrift and
The versions are all based on the same geometric pattern, and made up of four colours.
The Tasmanian Tiger backpacks and pouches are in PenCott GreenZone, which is ideal in particular for Central Europe. In conifer and mixed forests especially, TT rucksacks and bags in PenCott GreenZone offer excellent camouflage properties, since they blend almost perfectly with the natural surroundings.

Three whole days in the great outdoors, completely cut off from civilisation without knowing what’s waiting around the corner – in this situation, you need an emergency pack that will hold anything and everything you need to survive outdoors. A Bug-Out-Bag (BOB) is the perfect companion for any eventuality.
The magazine “Tactical Gear” tested various backpacks for this very purpose in its 1/2015 issue.
The test started with a simulated three-day escape, during which time the escapee remained hidden in the forest until the situation was likely to have settled down.
The military backpack TT Raid Pack MK II was the test winner, and rated as a particularly “ingenious” model. The testers’ summary: “… The carrier system is rigid, yet well padded. It will do anything asked of it without complaint. The only time the backpack developed a dynamic of its own was with fast movements. … It was never difficult to balance the dynamics, and abseiling and climbing also worked very well. … And with its extremely reasonable price, this backpack deserved to win the test. …”
Aalen police HQ equips organisation units with the TT Medic Assault Pack
After more than two years’ development and testing, Aalen police HQ has equipped its ten police stations, the Federal Motorway divisions, the two dog-handling sites, searches, deployment training centres and the task forces of the alert platoons with the “emergency backpack lite”, the Medic Assault Pack by TASMANIAN TIGER.
A total of 21 emergency backpacks are available. As the deployment training centres are equipped with the Medic Assault Pack an emergency backpack is available for every shooting training.
“The ’emergency backpack lite’ gives these divisions of Aalen police HQ a medical equipment standard that is slightly less than that used by special police units,” reads the official report on its introduction. It continues: “The concept focused on the following: high level of supply competence, high relevance to operations, stress-free in use, and multifunctionality.”
The TT Medic Assault Pack is technically and methodically up-to-date for medical first aid, carefully designed to hold the contents safely, and quick and easy to use in the event of an emergency.
TASMANIAN TIGER offers emergency backpacks and first-aid bags in various sizes and designs in the field of medical equipment.
V2 Plus – Optimised carrier system for successful backpacks
Some of TT’s most successful backpacks have been given a new carrier System:
the V2 Plus carrier system has a high contact point on the back plate to provide a tremendous range of options when adjusting the back length. This means the backpack can be adjusted even more precisely to individual requirements, thereby further improving the carrying behaviour. Plus the padded hip strap can be removed, which means that backpacks with this system can also be used with fully equipped waistcoats and chest rigs – and the broad, ergonomically shaped shoulder straps will still provide strong, reliable wear comfort. Furthermore, the detached hip strap can be used separately as a “Warrior Belt”.
